The Capitalworks Foundation is dedicated to alleviating poverty by supporting projects that provide jobs, training, skills development, capacity building and long-lasting employment in deprived areas. We do this by partnering with entrepreneurs and local micro-enterprises to provide management support, business expertise and financial backing.
At present, we are focused on the Arts & Crafts sector where, for a number of years, Alex Shabalala has been producing exquisite works of art from his studio in Diepsloot. We have recently relocated his studio to the Riversands SMME Incubation Hub and, in the coming months, plan to expand his workforce of artists drawn from the local, deprived communities.
